Robert P. Berger, M.N.R.M., B.Sc. (President/ Senior Wildlife Biologist)

Robert, the President of WRCS, is a senior wildlife biologist with twenty-years of experience in the environmental field.  Projects have included research, monitoring and environment assessments of riparian and terrestrial environments associated with mine developments, hydro-electric developments (generating and transmission lines), alternate energy sources (wind farms), linear features (highways, pipelines, transmission lines), storage reservoirs and wetland enhancement, wastewater works, industry (e.g., oil and gas, forestry, pulp and paper mills, peat moss mining), and other facilities (e.g., airports, golf-courses, bridges etc.).  Robert has organized or contributed to numerous wildlife-related projects involving caribou and other ungulates, furbearers, carnivores, small mammals, boreal forest and grassland birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, endangered species recovery programs, animal behaviour, habitat assessments, inventories, monitoring, modeling, and management plans. Robert has worked extensively in northern, central and southern Manitoba environments.  He is an acting advisor to the Wapisu woodland caribou committee, whom are responsible for administering joint stakeholder caribou monitoring for the region. Robert has had senior technical and corporate responsibility for the management of a wide range of environmental studies.  Mr. Berger has participated in many multi-disciplinary studies addressing a broad range of resource management issues that involved several biophysical disciplines and public involvement.
